Letter from Grandma K. 1985

Monday, December 16, 1985

Dear Kim,

I just got through listening to the funeral for the 248 soldiers who were killed in that plane crash. It was very moving. I feel so sorry for all those who have lost loved ones.

It’s rather cold here. We have snow on the ground and a layer of ice underneath. I think we will have a cold Christmas. …

David comes home from Vienna tomorrow. … He wants to get a job teaching in this area. I think he could get more money of he goes East or South, but he wants to be near home.

I am all ready for Christmas but putting the decorations & tree up. I seem to get slower every year.

Everyone is well. The kids are getting excited.

I hope you have a nice Christmas. I’ll take your call if you want to call on Christmas Eve. Wish you could be here in person. Work hard, have a good time & have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. AND WRITE!

Love,
Grandma K.
