Sundays are actually for going to church and then resting, according to Grandma K. Up early, get church out of the way and then have the rest of the day to sit around and eat, chat, and play cards while the kids ran around the house or played under the dining room table.
Everyone converged on Grandma Kradel’s house on Sunday afternoons. Potluck made it easier to feed everyone. Cousins had a chance to reconnect after a week apart. The only thing that seemed to keep people away was the weather.
It seemed that while Grandma Kradel deemed Sunday the day of the week to not work, it was the day of the week she worked the most, taking care of everyone.
