Letter From Grandma K. 1986

Saturday May 10, 1986

Dear Kim,

… Everyone around here is well. I am busy making cookies for the wedding next Saturday. I have Pizelles to make and some Applesauce Squares and then that will be all.

Our weather is beautiful but kind of chilly in the evenings. In fact it was down in the low forties today. The grass is growing and I’m busy trying to keep it cut. I am also busy working on my 55th class reunion which is to be on July 19. I’m getting old.

My kitty “Esther” died last Thursday and I buried her up in the back yard. She was 18 years old, and had a good life.

There really isn’t much to write about around here. I am going to a wedding this afternoon so I have to get ready for that. It is the son of a cousin of mine.

Take care and write me a note now and then.

Grandma K.

I have the back door open & the wild crabapple blossoms smell so heavenly.
